PILATES
“The mind, when housed within a healthful body, posseses a glorious sense of power” - Joseph Pilates
Lydia’s Pilates sessions are calm, focused and challenging. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning from injury, or looking to deepen your knowledge and challenge yourself, Lydia’s approach is all about helping you move better and feel stronger.
Lydia is STOTT Pilates certified and her sessions are therefore a contemporary approach to Joseph Pilates’ original exercise method. STOTT Pilates is based on biomechanics and postural alignment, aiming to increase stability, core strength and muscular balance.
Sessions with Lydia are grounded in technique, adapted for different levels/bodies and designed to make you feel confident about what your body can do both in the studio and out in the real world. You will leave sessions feeling a foot taller!

Pilates sessions with Lydia
Pilates is a holistic exercise system that uses controlled movements to strengthen the core, improve flexibility and posture, and build mind-body awareness. It is named after its creator, Joseph Pilates, who originally called it "Contrology" and developed it in the early 20th century. The system emphasizes a set of six principles: centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow.
Whilst reformer Pilates is currently experiencing a huge boom, it is worth recognising that this is not the only type of Pilates and Pilates is a methodology applied across many different pieces of large and small equipment.
All of Lydia’s sessions lean into Joseph Pilates’ original principles. Some class types are determined by the piece of equipment they use (i.e. mat, reformer, tower), whilst private sessions make use of many pieces of equipment and are tailored towards your individual goals.
Mat Pilates Classes
Lydia teaches Mat Pilates classes at ‘Pilates with Helen’ in Leamington Spa on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons/evenings and in schools across Warwickshire/Worcestershire as part of their Staff Wellbeing offering.
Reformer Pilates Classes
Lydia teaches reformer classes at The Pilates Gym in Wythall on Wednesdays and at The Farm Studio in Droitwich on Thursdays and Fridays
Private Pilates (1:1 or 2:1)
Lydia will work with you 1:1 or 2:1 on a personalised programme to meet your needs. This is ideal for those who are new to Pilates, are lacking in confidence, want to work on something specific (e.g. to support specific training for another sport) or those who want to try different pieces of equipment, learn about the method and challenge themselves further.
2:1 sessions are great for enjoying a workout together with a friend/partner/parent!
Private Pilates can be booked at any of the studios below, or Lydia can come to your home.
